Eleanor Lazarek was born in 1972 and grew up in Mystic, Connecticut. She received a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 1994, and has taught drawing there since 1998. She has received grants from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation, Artists Resource Trust and the John F. and Anna Lee Stacey Foundation.
